2025 BBCS Racing Champion – Andrew Francis
BBCS Maddock Durand Nascar Fantasy Racing
Since 2009 BBCS Fantasy Racing has seen over 125 drivers show up to the racetrack. While our championship consists of the NASCAR series, we have participated in others. In our history we have also raced in IRL, F1, O’Rielly, Craftsman, NHRA, IRacing (2020), Moto GP and the former SRX series.
In the leagues history, many have left us for varying reasons, but 2025 saw heartbreak as we lost two members, Mike Durand and original member Jordan Maddock, to cancer. The league will continue on and for the rest of it’s existence, it will be in their honor.
Starting with 2009 and going right on through, I have always enjoyed seeing, rewarding and acknowledging the different formats that Nascar has used to crown it’s champion. Meaning, Richard Petty and Dale Earnhardt each have 7 full season titles which earned them championships. Jimmy Johnson also has 7 championships but he did not have to finish with the most points like Petty and Earnhardt. He only had to have the most points in a 10 race stretch once he qualified for the playoffs. He did finish with the most points in a handful of years but it wasn’t 7, but he is still considered a 7 time champion and rightfully so. Then you have another legend and multiple time champion in Jeff Gordon. While he only is considered a 4 time champion, he finished 7 separate seasons with the most points. That equates exactly to 7 time champions Petty and Earnhardt. And now, up until 2026, there were years of the Cup format where you just had to survive to the final 4 drivers and finish highest of the 4 in the final race. And yes, each winner was crowned champion and it cannot be ignored. But it all depends on what you are looking at and what matters to you. For us, we more or less matched Nascars format since 2009, although how you qualify is different. We have done the top 12 in points earn a berth and the next four with the most wins get in. This was crucial in 2025 as the man who finished 2nd in the regular season, and only 2 points behind, dominated in the playoffs and won every format there is. Based on Nascars setup he would not have even made the playoffs but the guy who was 40th in our points would have. So I’ll stick with my setup. But each season we award the Cup champion, but I also do not overlook who would have
