a wrestling ring
Update the image so the 'Cup Mania' text in the middle uses a gold and red two-tone color in a cool font, with previous graphic changes preserved.

The (Sprint) Cup Mania is a series of events that I came up with honoring many of the original core members of the league who also had a great love for wrestling. Overall it would come to be different events based off of things that they do in wrestling. A King/Queen of the Ring one vs. one tournament to crown royalty. A Royal Rumble where the participants are randomly drawn into the “ring” at random intervals and the lowest couple are eliminated while more come in each week until there is one winner. A Survivor Series where small teams battle other teams with eliminations happening each week to the lowest scorers until only one team is left. There is also a Tag Team tournament where two people team up and face others in a bracket style elimination tournament, like the King/Queen, with the winners being crowned champions. At the beginning of each season I make the schedule of events and as your name is called up or when the events are taking place I use your actual race results for those results. So not only is your participation rewarded with these extra things that really only had decent meaning when I had a website previously where each person had their own page to show their accomplishments, but if I missed anything I could just go back and do it later because as I mentioned, I just use your race results. The first Mania initially was in 2011, but I would go back in time eventually and go through a couple events in 2009 and 2010 because I did have those race results to use. Throughout the years some of the ways I did the events would change, as with more people I needed more eliminations more quickly but especially early on, if you were teamed with people they could save you from being eliminated if they had won the actual race.

My favorite of the events. The number of participants have varied depending on the size of the league. At times to get to a desirable number, there have been non league members who have made appearances and former league members have come back to participate. The formats have varied a bit, some based on how many were in it, how long it was going and things of that nature. At one point if your “tag team partner” was in it, they could save you if they were the highest scorer of those in it that week. Truly my favorite. I have always loved watching it play out.

The King Tournament and Queen Tournament have always given me joy through the years. Just like the entertainment value of an upset in the college basketball championship tournament, I have always enjoyed watching this one play out. From watching those struggling through the season finally have a couple of good weeks and upset numerous times. I’ve seen the guy who finished 41st in a race beat a guy who finished 43rd. I’ve seen a guy finish in last place and advance because his opponent missed the race.

Early on, the Tournament was as one but as the league membership became bigger, they separated, but not always. Especially with the first few years, the winners of the crowns, including the runners up or winners of a losers bracket or a sub tournament were granted other royal titles such as Prince, Princess, Duke and such.
